My "hybrid commuter"
2002 Giant Yukon
I bought this bike new in '02 and road it for recreation and for commuting to college. I decided to pull it out and give it a full on commuter conversion this winter so I can use it this spring/summer/fall to ride to work and ride for fitness. I replaced the knobbies with some 1.95" Kenda slicks, added some Avenir rear panniers, rear rack, and clip on fenders. I also added a nashbar front rack and frame bag. I'm a sucker for storage. I want this to replace my car for around town activities. I can't wait to use it.

My first attempt at doing something like this...utter failure. Full XT with 29er wheel set. Problem is I stripped a crank arm the first time I tried putting a pedal on it.
I cut off the threads to the pedal, cut the head off a bolt, welded the threads from the bolt to the pedal, and then re-tapped the crank arm. Apparently I didn't weld
the bolt directly center in the center and now I've ruined not only a crank arm but a set of pedals. It's very rideable but that in combination with the BB being too long
makes for an awful ride. I'm about to sell this and build up a gunnar crosshairs frame I stumbled upon.

It's a piece of plexi-glas that has a sticker on it that says "Everybody has to believe in something, I believe I'll go kayaking" The yellow is just a nashbar sticker i stuck on there.

Ah, a fellow yakker, eh? I believe I'd go right now myself if it wasn't 10 frikken' degrees outside.

A couple years ago, I went paddling on the Chippewa river the first week of April. I dumped it and got pulled under a log. Luckily I popped up on the other side. The water was way cold and way fast from all the snow run off into the river. From then on, I chose to not go paddling until June. (an exception this year, I paddled in May, but I was in the Outer Banks

If the water isn't warm enough to swim in then forget it. Of course down here that's about 7 or 8 months out of the year. I'll paddle around the local rez here during the winter if I get the itch but only if the sun is out and the wind isn't blowing. Got to watch out for the gators though. Some of them are bigger than my kayak, and when you're right down there with them around the surface it gets a little creepy.

Here's my modified Giant Cypress that I tour on. (Picture shot in Louisiana during a tour of the Deep South) She's a work-horse, comfortable, and reliable. I just can't bring myself to replace her.
I do keep upgrading components and she gets sweeter and sweeter all the time.

Thanks for the compliments.
One downside I hadn't thought about, but I keep getting questions about the Denver Broncos. Apparently, they're like a local sports team or something with the colors blue & orange
To keep this thread on topic of hybrid photos, I decided to take pictures of my girlfriend's bike since she won't join BF herself.
Its a 2008 Specialized Globe City 7, and I love the bike. Its perfect for her:
