how do you like those stubby bar ends? Im trying to decide between those or longer ends. Do they support the alternate hand position comfortably?

If you are referring to the camo-painted bike, I think you are mislooking since that bike seems to have both ergo barends and a triathlon bar

Mine is set up with a tandem seat for my little guy. I am still looking for the front bag. Thinking of a honey leather Dopp kit. Only thing that really fits that rack, without dropping big $$$.

You are correct ! With both the Aero-bars and the bar-ends. They give me a variety of hand positions. The Aero-bars are great for riding into the wind, and just kicking back and cruising.

p.s. Secret to using a compact double 50:34 crank? add 2mm spacers to the small ring, and adjust the BB width so the large chainring is close to midway on the rear cluster ... that way you can use the big gear with all your rear gears just like it was a 7-8 speed, then the small 34T is good for the biggest 5 or so sprockets, and gets you all kinda low gears. I'm using vintage suntour thumb friction shifters, so gear spacing is -eh-

when I shift the front, I drop 2 on the back and its the next gear in sequence...

before I added the 2mm spacers, the chain hit the big ring when i was in the small ring in anything but the largest three rears.

Here's mine, my first bike since I was a kid basically. I use it for commuting (20+ mile each day) and weekend blasts but I'm looking at buying a cyclocross as "my pride and joy" soon.

GT Zum S2, Brooks B17 Saddle, Specialized Bar-ends, Shimano SPD pedals, other than that it's pretty much standard.

Nice bike there. I hope you're not planning on doing anything but very flat roads on those tyres, but they sure will make you fast

I finally got my first clippless SPD pedals last weekend ... they are in fact "hybrid pedals", since they have SPD on one side and a platform on the other.
I needed this type since I do some tricky trails through mountainous fields sometimes, where I'd rather be unclipped to get my feet to the ground instantly when needed ... the platform side is also more suited for family trips to be able to wear casual shoes.
I got the Shimano A530's with Shimano M076 SPD shoes and so far I love 'em.





I'm very pleased that my bike is again one step closer to being my ultimate hybrid bike

The A530s look great on your bike! These also came as stock pedals in my new bike and a lot of people ask me about it. My cleats though are a bit difficult to remove on the A530's even on the weakest position of the pedal springs (which was not the case in my Shimano M324 "hybrid pedals").

Yeah, I noticed right after posting that you have indeed exactly the same pedals!
Mine aren't difficult to clip out of at all on weakest setting, so maybe it has something to do with your shoes? Did you keep the same cleats as with your M324's?
You also have an ultegra crankset -drool-
It says here on Orbea's site that your bike costs about 2200€ ... I would not dare ride anything that expensive ^^
