Here's a picture showing the newest upgrades. I got some $5 ergonomic-style Forté grips to replace my old ones that were shedding dirty rubber on my gloves and some new white tape. The rubber that came from the grips got transferred to my gloves and then to the bar tape, consequently making it dirty. I also got some new gloves .

Got new wheels for the touring/commuter bike which started out as a flatbar hybrid, but is now definitely more of a touring/commuter/cyclocross type of bike.
New Wheels which arrived today. (Williams Fuzion M1s)

Thanks. I agree, they really made the bike look complete. It's funny to think of all of the changes it went through..
I bought it on 07 looking stock of course.. It's an 06 (leftover)
In 07 it looked like this
08/09 It looked like this
(My first real tour)
And now it looks like this.

Congratulations on a fine looking converted and upgraded FCR-3. What are you running for a rear cassette and derailleur. I've got a 2009 FCR-3 that after a couple of years of riding stock am just beginning to convert for light trail riding.

I use a 12-28 8 spd Sora Cassette. Or you can use the SRAM PG850 (Basically the same thing) Setup with Sora Front AND Rear derailleurs. The gears in the back mixed with with 30/42/52 Crank really give it a Huge range of gears.

Hey Steve I'm not sure what SBS is doing this year, in adelaide the telecast is on channel 9 and starts tonight with a prolog around the city and the official start is tuesday.
I was planning to do the Ride Like Crazy race for the public today as well as the Bupa challenge tour but my back has had a bad time in the last couple months so my fitness is not up to it.
Its quite amazing this time of year everywhere I go the roads are packed with pro riders and racer wanabe's.

I want to buy a high end hybrid, but confused. I don't want to spend more then $1600.00. I will be riding on sidewalks some trails but not rough ones and roads. My riding will consist on 3-4 times a wk. I can use any advice thank you.

Ride as many as you can. Buy the one that fits the best and feels the best or the one you go home and dream bout. 1000 dollars would be a damn nice Hybrid, especially for Off the Shelf. I'd start as low as the 700 or 800 option and look all the up to 1500. See what the real differences are. Do you want something with a front suspension or not?

Yes I did have a little bit of cold, but it was FREEZING that day also. Thanks for the welcome back, never really left though, was always checking to see what was happening. Just did not post anything because it might be more than a week before I could respond. That summer in South America ( Peru ), really took up all my time. Thanks Again Though, missed all you guys, Richard
