Just a cheap bike from target, I had this for a while but haven't ridden in around 4-5 years, for various reasons.
Will use this until I get back into riding and stick with it, then i'll spend the money on a better bike.

2003 Marin Bear Valley. It was purchased as my first road bike after I stopped riding mountain bikes. I put some good road miles on it for a few years until I bought a real road bike. After that it was used sporadically as commuter, trainer, dust collector. Over this winter I rode it on the trainer while it was snowing in the northeast. I am picking up a brand new road bike tonight so the hybrid can go back to being a dedicated commuter.
Part of me wants to make some changes to the bike. Other parts of me want to leave it as is, mostly unmolested. 2003 was the only year the Bear Valley was a flat bar road bike and not a mountain bike.

@snapshot46 Please, please, please never mess around on RR tracks like that. It's dangerous, and illegal. It's considered trespassing and RR Police can fine or even arrest people caught near tracks like that. Nearly 1,000 RR trespassing casualties (deaths & injuries) happened in 2016. It's just not worth it for a "cool" picture.

thnx
well yes and no it does look more like MTB but it rides like hybrid/trekking bicycle and Giant puts it in Xroad category somwhere beetwen MTB and Gravel/Road bike. I did have XC MTB (Cube LTD) with same rigid setup and it's bit more aggresive in ride position and general feel during rides.

Giant Escape 2 Pic - Last Summer
Hi all,
New to the boards here...but just took the Giant Escape 2 out for a ride this weekend, for the first time since Fall....nice to get out again after a winter hiatus.
Just wanted to post a picture of my bike that I took last summer, although I do have a new add on now - a dedicated bike computer.
Even so, the bike is pretty tricked out for commuting...front and rear lights, bike lock holder mount, two water bottle cages - one I reserve for my bluetooth speaker, phone holder, bell, and rear view mirror.
