^^I'll watch those vid's later, I'm on restricted internet till the 13th. I expect this post to take me 20min

Easy ride today 50k city to coast and back again. No sun chilly incredibly windy where did summer go ? Turned out to be a quick ride must be getting fitter from riding roadbikes in the hills.
Highlight or lowlight today was seeing a rider get his front wheel stuck in the tram tracks in the road and having a massive crash, gotta watch those tracks!!

They are pretty quiet for the most part Ajh800. My favorite rides are off the beaten track. Yeah, the Sirrus has surpassed my expectations, I really like the bike. I like your bike too!

I took a 20 mile ride this morning from my house out to the local lake and surrounding marinas and parks. There was a new 4 mile bike path that will eventually be part of a 30 mile network in the area. It wasn't open yet, but a bike fits between barricades relatively easily . There was a 20-30 mph south wind that was pretty brutal so the avg speed suffered, but I just took the time, took some pictures, and enjoyed myself. 60-70 degrees at the start of February - I'll take it!!

It is surprisingly smooth for concrete. Almost asphalt smooth...

There was only one shot of the path surface-the rest were shots of a road I like riding. Feels good to be back on the bike regularly!

I rode the Riverton to Clare rail trail today 94.7km with some side tracks. The last 20km was quite painful when conditions turned to a strong headwind, was happy to finish it.
Also got stung on the forehead by a wasp, couldn't get him off me till I stopped and threw my glasses off while he was burrowing his stinger in the little *#!*#@%*

Rest stop

There's plenty wild growing apple and peach tree's with ripe fruit to snack on. The tree's could have been here since 1914 when they laid this section of track, the trunks certainly look very old. The Gawler to Riverton line was laid in 1864.

I think it took an hour to make this post My internet will be full speed by the 13th

Keep it up I've only managed to lose 2kg since riding again, need to lose another 6kg to get back to my pre op weight. If I get to 65kg I'll shave my legs roadie style but I think my legs are safe

Looks like a fantastic ride @jbchybridrider (of course, the wind doesn't show up in your pics!). I shave my head and felt a wasp fly into my helmet once. Very helpless feeling while waiting for it to drop the hammer!

Great pictures guys. Guess the bugs are all part and parcel of sunny climates - those wasps get you doing the maddest gurning & arm waving ever.

My pictures will have to wait a while, thawing out after a 140km hiding,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thawed out now.

As I really make an effort to get back actively riding after a couple of months away from it due to a variety of reasons, days like today will keep me motivated. It was a great day to get out. After a brutal 20 miles in a hurricane yesterday and really overdoing it for my overweight 48 year old body, I did 26 miles today. 72-75 degrees, little to no wind, and just a beautiful blue sky outside - can't beat this February weather. The great thing is all this is accessible from my house. No loading up the bike on the car and driving somewhere. I even managed to work in a pit stop at about 17 miles for a little liquid carb loading.

Cheers!

Out at the lake

A couple of girls getting lessons in barrel racing at the local rodeo arena (it is Texas, after all...)

New city courthouse

Taking a break with a nice Spaten

These two are from the historic Feed Mill that recently closed and is being transformed into a museum and eventually a microbrewery

Tracks going somewhere...

One of the city fireboats on the lake in for service. We don't need the big coastal fireboats on the lake...

One of the marinas on my ride that shows how calm the winds were this afternoon...

And finally, those empty tracks I showed earlier gave me nice water break about a half hour later about a mile from my house.

Cheers!

I did a nice relaxed 3+ laps for a total of 11.2 miles as the sun set. I forgot how much fun it is to ride the steel-framed Sedona ST.

Love those old Giant Steel Frame bikes. I have a 1999 Rincon which is similar. Was labeled as a "All Terrain Bike" when new. I've slapped a pair of tires that are more street friendly without the knobs and love it as my Greenway bike.

As I work to get back on the saddle more regularly, I did a fast, high effort 10 mile night ride last night. Great time. Great workout!

@Snertos999 I think you look a bit hot, should have had a dip in the ocean, lol.

I see you ride a Hybrid Pro, I tried to buy a Boardman Pro Hybrid back in 2010 from Halfords. Had many email communications with them and they were very friendly but at the time could not sell overseas. They said they would look into ways of doing international sales which they now do but in the meantime I built my own custom bike.
I still love the Boardman bikes and wish I had one.

Unfortunately, mine ended up taking me to the bike shop.

I had a pedal bearing fail about 3 miles from my house as I was on my way home from a quick 10 mile ride. I was able to nurse it home.

Failed pedal (original cheap Wellgo pedals):

Replacements (Forte ATB's with Forte toe straps):
