Dang. Great to see all the pics from my old friends! I've been spending too much time in the gym and not on the Fuji. The flood waters have receded, the alligators are no longer walking across my routes, and cooler temps will definitely make it easier.

Did a 51 mile ride on the Great Allegheny Passage yesterday. I absolutely loved it. Even though though the first 25 miles was going up hill all the way.

Yup, alive and kicking. The last several months have been tough to spend time on the bike. I was building my miles back up in the spring, but my mother fell ill and passed very quickly after that. The next several months were spent helping my father go through her things and get things in order. I started riding again, and then we were hit with the 2nd wettest month ever on record in DFW, and my normal riding route and many other roads were all under about 15 feet of water. I had to retreat to the gym for spin work and weights, but it's made a huge impact on my health (which is why I started riding in the first place). I'm down 25 pounds and much stronger and have MUCH higher endurance now. I can't wait to replace the spin bike and elliptical with my hybrid for the cardio work.

Great Allegheny Passage - Saw it on google map n it goes from Pittsburgh to DC? Unfortunately I dont have the time now. Maybe when I retire.

Yep, The Great Allegheny starts in Pittsburgh, then connects to the C n O canal in Cumberland MD and that goes to DC. I think total, it's around 340 miles one way. I'm planning on doing the whole thing in the next few years.

I've become very lazy these days it seems. The only time and place I ride my hybrid is down to the beach to have a look at the waves.

As promised, I finally jumped back on the saddle after way too many months away. I left about 20 minutes before first light so I could be out on the lake at first light. Watching the sunrise while on my bike is one of my guilty pleasures. It didn't disappoint today. I have been working out with cardio and weights 5 days a week in a gym and am down 25 pounds. My lighter weight and better fitness level really helped on my first ride back - 23+ miles for my first ride since April was a pleasant surprise. After doing my lake run, I headed into the historic part of the town I live in to take a break at a new community plaza we built. It was a great place to take a break and refill the water bottle.

Being a afternoon shift worker most of my life I don't know how people exercise that early, but if it works for you Strangely if I'm camping I'm up at the crack of dawn every day?

I guess it's what one is used to. I've gone into the office early my entire working life, so if I sleep until 7am on a weekend morning, I feel like I'm stealing money!

Some shots from one of my favorite rides. The second decent ride on my Sakae I think it's my favorite hybrid now. To be honest I didn't think it was a good mtb off road, the steering felt really strange but as a road bike the steering feels a lot like a road bike and with smaller wheels and fat slicks it's the fastest descending bike I've ever ridden. That really saying something because my JBC kills road bikes descending thanks to disc brakes, braking late and smooth with fast steering good road bike riders have never kept up. Well the Sakae's even faster without discs it carves up corners soooo good and rolls soooo fast.



With summer on the way the green grass will dry up soon.

Thanks and I don't think I'm good at capturing it in photos. You can see a cheap camera mount on the handle bars I used for some ride video but it's so shaky I can't show it.

Thanks dude. Pinned and bonded raw alloy. Really need to give it some protection, thinking of sanding it for a brushed look polishing the lugs then clear coating just a bit busy right now.
