I was up with the sun this morning and got 22.5 miles in on the Fuji Absolute from the house up to Lewisville Lake north of DFW. It's nice to be so close to such a great area to ride. The last 3 miles back to the house are generally uphill, and into a 25mph wind this morning. Ugh. My recovering knee and not quite recovered fitness took a beating but it was a great ride!

Took my new bike out for its first "real ride" today, got a bit over 50 miles in, could've went farther but the weather was getting dicey.

I like the bike a lot, but the grips suck, Trek should've called them "slips" lol. As hot as it is here, my hands get really sweaty, and I kept having to re-position my hands, they end up slipping towards the center of the handle bars. That doesn't make for a good ride when you're consistently thinking about your grip. Anyways, nothing a few bucks can't fix, other than that, the bike is really nice.

I've already shared some ride reports from this trail. A 30km ride, 10km on asphalt to get there, 10km dirt road/singletrack/creek with lots of descending and then lots of climbing and 10km back home on asphalt.

I'm digging that handlebar bag. Looks really neat. I saw it converts into a waist pack, but it looks like the plastic attachment piece would rub right again your waist... Is there any way around it?

Never used it as a waist pack, and don't really intend to, so I don't know if the mount would be uncomfortable or not. I mainly bought it because the handlebar mount keeps the bag out front and clear of the cables and brake lines. Plus it has a nice "mount attachment" that clips on the bar mount so you can mount a computer or headlight. Its a pretty good bag for the price, I can carry my lock, phone, snacks, and a small towel in it, but thats it.

Got a smidge under 60 miles today, it was a warm one for sure. Really coming in to my new FX, the new seat made a giant improvement.

Thanks, I'm starting to like it a lot, though it was a bit steeper of a learning curve than I thought to get comfortable riding it. The riding angle, and overall handling is so much more aggressive than any other bike I've rode. Yesterdays ride was the first long ride where I finally felt comfortable and confident on it.

HOT HOT HOT, wow......if you couldn't tell already, it was a warm one today, my Lezyne was showing 105 degrees!

I got in 52 miles today, with many stops, (most of the stops were for beer) water, lunch etc.

Really liking the new FX, took a couple weeks to get comfortable, (new seat, new raised stem), Im really enjoying it. Would've gone a bit further, but the heat today was a *****, still got a nice "no rain" ride in today.

Did a little housework on the FX, Pledge works wonders ! Spike likes to hang in the shop, can you see him ?

Thanks. Not really, it's more adapted to the road, 28 spoke wheels, 28c tires, but it does ride well over rough brick roads we have around here, and can easily take a curb or hard packed trail.

I'm up in Tallahassee area on business and brought my Fuji "Big Blue" with me. I rode 27 miles today on the St. Marks Railway Trail, very nice trail, though I came across a bobcat that really got my attention and my heart rate went way up. Almost zero ascent/descent and no wind with over cast skies, couldn't ask for better June weather in Florida lol.

I don't think the trail itself goes to the Gulf, but I'm pretty sure there is a route you can take along rural roads that will get you there.

June 30th, my hybrid started me out here at Point State Park, Pittsburgh....



To Ohiopyle...



July 1st took me to Cumberland for my first time riding the GAP completely....



July 2nd we arrived in Hancock, MD. Saw the chicken coup that I've heard so much about. $15 alternative to a tent (we stayed hotels)....



Day 4 was a short day at 50 miles. Took time to do some cave exploration on our way to Shepherdstown, WV...



And finally to arrive in DC on July 4th. There's a LOT of water and Gatorade weight in those bags to add to my 34 lb bike, LOL....




This was my first multi-day trip and was an absolute blast! Felt like cheating a little because we had support vehicles, water and food trucks, and our bags were shuttled via vans from stop to stop.

And I leave for my 2nd multi-day ride in 11 days to ride the Erie Canal Trail Buffalo to Albany.

Sounds like a fun trip! Your pictures aren't coming through for me. It looks like they're on Dropbox. Can you change the permissions of that folder to "public" so we can see? Or host the images on Flickr or similar?

@mrodgers - Looks it was a fun trip. I wish we had more like that here in Nevada.
