Today me and my Lady took a ride over to visit my Sister, only our third day on the bikes and we had a nice run there averaging 9.7mph along the tow path of the canal that took us most of the way there.
On the way back we decided on a different route, following the lanes then an old dirt track that goes between 2 sets of castle gates, although shorter this route was hilly, and nearly decimated us within 10 minutes of setting off, but we made the first hill with a short break half way up, and averaged 9.3mph on the way home, with the hills given us a chance to hit 27 on the way down.
Not a bad days riding, we took our time and had a few breaks each way, including a stop for a refreshing cider in the village pub.
Sadly, the camera battery was low so it got left behind, so no pictures.

I generally take my 2009 Giant Cypress DX for a 16 mile ride on our city trails at 5:30 am four days during the week and for 27 mile rides out country roads and back on the state trail on Saturday and Sunday. Meet me at the trailhead tomorrow at 6 am if you want to go along!
I'll be getting the 2009 Jamis Coda Comp next Wednesday, that should take some time off those rides!

I got myself some nice shimano A530 hybrid pedals yesterday and went to test them out today on a trip to Geraardsbergen doing 14 miles at an average of 19,5mph.
My first time ever with clipless SPD system and I gotta say I love it.
Did a stretch of flat road of about 1 mile in Geraardsbergen at an average of 29mph thanks to the eficiency of the new pedals ... I was actually passing the cars at that point, since the speed limit was 30mph there ... yay!

today i broke my oldest record. and made 57 miles. my maximum speed was 29 miles.
and in a such long journey i recognised a few things with my bike. (fx 7.3) fx series is not suitable for long journeys if roads are rough. (in my situation) and at the end of ride i have some discomfort at palm of my hands and in my shoulders. may be i should consider buying ergon grips and adjusting saddle again.
but what is more important is there is a lot of vibration from the ground. today handlebar was vibrating so frequent that i didn't want to hold it
may be i should consider attaching 700x35c tires or selling the hybrid and buying a touring style bike
because i really like making long journeys over bike.
and in such rough roads i rarely reach high speeds so a little slow but durable and a more comfortable bike should be more suitable in my situation.

I went for a 42 mile out and back, which is quite a bit for my underside...I'm waiting on Amazon to ship me a micro-adjust stem, then I'll get a new seat at the shop. I have one of those squishy "comfort" seats at the moment. Most uncomfortable thing in the world after 20 miles! Other than that, it was quite fun, went down to the river, had to walk the bike down with the brakes on to keep it from rolling in, and I'm pretty sure I'm immune to poison oak.
erdem, my ride today was very 'vibraty" too, my hands are actually a bit sore from it, despite having a suspension fork. I think I'm going to hold out on a touring bike until I'm done with school and ready to tour. Hopefully a new seat will let me take some of the pressure off of my hands, quite a bit is on them at the moment due to seat discomfort.

Ah, I noticed my rear wheel was slightly out of true after that ride. I went to fix it, and WAM! goes a spoke. Craaaaaaap.

Yesterday my hybrid took me on a ride on the Holmes County Trail with some friends from the Forum.
Tonight I think it will take me to the fireworks.

Today's ride involved locating and photographing 14 of the 36 Mickey Mice in the MLB ASG Mickey Mouse Parade here in the LA Basin.

Not to far, 5 mile road ride.
But very fast for me 14 MPH average.....Plus up and down my long 300 ft decent driveway,
trying to make some action videos.. But it looks like I'm riding on pavement, my daughter
was operating the camera, so the videos flopped !( But she was doing her best ), To boring, but what a work out!
Up and down that hill....
It's a 1/2 mile long, but was only doing the last 1/4 mile
for the video...But great day all in all.....

Today my steed took me 0.9 miles out and the same back. A mighty commute to my job interview I'm sure. I did hit an average of 14mph though, but that doesn't really count for such a short jaunt.

I hope you get a chance to see the event rolling though your neck of the woods. Today's finish was sort of a Mickey Mouse parade as the peloton decided not to contest the finish.
"Mickey Mouse" is a proper name and should be capitalized just as you would capitalize "Tintin". Your cultural bias revealed yet again.

Took my to work in my fastest time so far. It's near bang on 10 miles, done it in 38 minutes (odd) at 16.1 mph average - fast for me!
That's where my hybrid takes me most days

Just took the bike out for a ride, went down my local park, across to the canal, followed the towpath to my old village and went along the lane, then decided to go on an old shortcut I remembered from my youth.
It almost killed me. ^^ Only a short dirt path up a hill, but it was steeper than I remembered and I'm still not in the best shape again.
Once I'd got back to the road though I was alright, took the last hill steadily and had a short break at the top before passing through the castle gates and following the bridleway most of the way home.
A short route at 4.7 miles, but about right for what I want to do as I get back into cycling, and I kept an average of 11mph so I'm pretty happy.

Awesome pictures !
I rode to my mom's for dinner. She lives about 5 miles from me. We both live near the Anacostia Tributary Trails
network. Most of the route I took is part of the East Coast Greenway. These roadies are laughing at me because
I'm on a hybrid.

Lake Artemisia

Rode some nice single track on the way back.

They removed the red diagonal.

Congratulations
today i broke my oldest record. and made 57 miles. my maximum speed was 29 miles.
and in a such long journey i recognised a few things with my bike.
