My hybrid's not going to be taking me anywhere for a while--probably the entire month of Februrary... We have about 8 inches of snow right now and it's still snowing. It sucks because I won't be able to ride on my birthday like I planned!

I feel your pain! I'am awaiting a 2011 "leftover", Jamis Allegro 1, that's been set up as kinda a "crossover" so it can do some local Colorado Springs "dirt paths", (no MTB trails), since we are "car-free", I can't pick it up till I can "ride" it home and that will be when the "roads clear" from the snow, arrrrugh!
Hopefully it will MELT by your birthday, luckly mines in August but I'm 57 so a birthday ride is a looooong one!

Edit: Math fail. I meant 48mi.

How to say this? We went upstairs? Harsh winters do these things to bikes... They can end up in trainers.

Just playing around on the new bike during the break in the rain. Hit 27 MPH before the hill, think I could have gone faster on a second try. But after pushing it back up that hill was to tired ! (LOL)

i rode 13.5 miles to Corona Park and back with my girlfriend.
she has taken a renewed interest in cycling since i started and she goes on rides with me 2 or three times a month.
i was able to get the Trek mountain bike you see her riding for free, and we split the price of hybrid tires so she could ride faster on asphalt.
i found (yes found!) the helmet you see her wearing brand new on the side if the road one day.... seriously. it was a perfect fit for her, and is even the same brand and similar style as my helmet.
riding with her is slow and sometimes a little frustrating but i will take the leisurely pace for a chance to ride with another person.
i found out that a friend of mine just got a used '07 Trek hybrid for 150$ and is very excited to ride with me. i just hope he is serious....
i shot some pics with my GoPro, here's 10 i like....

Rode the Coda Sport 7.5 miles to the LBS to put it in for a "tune up", then rode the 2011 Jamis Allegro 1 (leftover), I'd purchased 7.5 miles back home!
There was snow coming down the foothills so headed home.

I ride a Giant 2011 Escape 2, nothing fancy but I think she makes a great all purpose urban bike.
I changed the tires to Kevlar bead (Vittorio Randonneur front, and Michelin City rear). Replaced the stock pedals with MKS Lambda platforms, and after destroying my rear derailleur I replaced an Altus with an Alivio.
Here she is back in late November on Randalls island.

If your mocking me that's all good. Just that I took around 350 at Christmas, and sitting and going through them took forever.
Sorry it may have bothered you enough you had to comment. Richard
