Hybrid Rims

So I Have A Specialized Globe Hybrid Bike (carmel 700). And i'm thinking about changing the rims to colored rims. I was thinking about changing them to velocity deep V rims. But i dont know if changing the rims will effect how smooth my bike rides. If i change the rims will anything happen?

If you purchase colored wheels that have your original spoke count and double wall thickness, you will probably not be able to tell the difference and you would not lose any durability.

I do believe that deep V wheels will actually be stronger than your original wheels but will also be a little more rigid. You probably wont be able to tell as your tire size is rather large 700 1.95".

I'd say you will notice a significant difference in the ride since you won't be able to run nearly as wide of a tire. With an external rim width of only 19mm, you'll probably max out with a 28mm or 32mm tire. On pavement, this still allows for a comfortable ride, but it won't have that same plush "balloon" ride. Combine that with the fact that Deep-Vs are rather rigid rims, and it's got to feel different. On the plus side, the smaller, lighter, higher pressure tires might feel more efficient (if that's desired).

If you had disc brakes, there are other choices from Velocity. The VXC and Blunt come with many color choices but are for disc brakes only.

sorry i forgot to mention that my tire size is 700x32h. so if i find rims that fit the exact same size, then it should work smoothly?

Sounds like it should work fine then... It might be a tiny bit more rough but thats normal for a way stronger rim than stock. Good luck with it, it should look awesome.
