Narrowed it down to 2.......
I've been researching and test riding bikes and have narrowed it down to 2 I like but cannot pick between the 2:

I was not sure of the Sirrus since it was a 2007 model, but seems to be a good bike. This will be mainly for weekend paved trail rides and some road use. (would love to do the Seattle to Portland ride in the next few years) for excercise and family rides etc. I have a 1996 Trek 930 Single Track that was fun on the trails but have found it to not be comfortable on pavement and I don't do much MTB riding anymore. Looking for comfort and speed now Your thoughts are appreciated Thanks |
Just keep in mind, in 2007, the sirrus sport's MSRP was $800... that was four years ago.

I bought a 2010 7.5 fx in black this year, so my vote goes for that. I really like the bike, fits me like a glove and wants to go fast. I actually want to get on the bike and ride all the time. The bike's components work well, the CLIX dropouts work very well. Its quite easy to get the wheels off the bike if you care about that. I honestly think its a very good bike for the money. The only thing I have done so far is replace the pedals to a set of spd clipless and I will probably put some bar ends on it for a different hand position. Other than that, I am leaving it stock.

I like the Sirrus too!!!
It's currently set up for light trails, but I can put the original wheels back on and be good for the road again! Mikey P.S. Try to work on that price though... it's way too high! |
My vote goes to the Sirrus, just bought a base Sirrus and Vita for my wife and I to do some light trail riding. Didn't want to take the Roubaix or Dolce road bikes on the trail. The Sirrus is really quick and handles well too.
Both have been on crushed limestone and dirt trails, nice change from the road. I say go Specialized, kinda biased though. Enjoy |
As far as the price, that to is something I wondered. And btw I was incorrect on the year of the Sirrus. It is a 2008.

Is it a demo bike or a leftover?
Regardless, why is it still at MSRP? A leftover I'd expect to be priced around $620. A demo model, even lower. If this is a used bike, the owner better have made some 'sirrius' upgrades to be asking that much for it. |
