Removed stock grips, replaced with Ergon GP-1's and bar ends. GP-1's allowed for both the mirror and bar ends. So far, new setup feels great!

I put bar tape on my mini drops (Origin 8 probably makes yours, too, as they look identical). Buttttt, make sure you get them situated first - I'd recommend running them bare for at least a month. Then wrap them up.

I started out using Ergon GC2s:
I have since upgraded to trekking bars:
These offer a multitude of hand positions. I lost my mounting position for my mirror, so I had to switch to a helmet-mounted one. The bars are the best upgrade on my hybrid to date (although my Michelin Pilot City tires are a close second.) Admittedly the GC2s don't have a very big bar end (I believe the "2" signifies 2 fingers). That being said, they are very, very comfortable - so much so that they now reside on another bike of mine. the ergonomic grips on my trekking bars are cheap knock-offs; I plan to eventually replace them with Ergon GP1s.

Thanks for starting this one. I've been riding my Kona for 7 months now, and I need to move my hands around, so it's time for bar end grips.
I did find that the regular grips were fine for a while, but it seems that over time the tingling sets in sooner than it used to.
I also thinking of trimming the bars just a little, the bar on my Kona seems plenty wide in the normal hand position, that the ends will need to come in a bit.

While I do wear gloves when riding, my thought was that the bar ends may be more comfortable with bar tape added. I purchase most accessories from Performance bike store...any recommendation on the bar tape...and, wrapping technique (bottom of bar end to top, or vice versa; wrap clockwise vs counter clockwise; end wrap with electricians tape??) Will wrap loosen from grip over time, and frequency of having to re-wrap?
