Mine would be around 50 miles, but that was an all day trip with shopping and eating out.
The longest ride without stopping, would be 25 miles, did that a few times.. Richard

I rode 40 miles last weekend for the first time! I had a goal: 40 miles by my 40th birthday (which is tomorrow) - so, I made it!

Something like 28 miles? I've thought I should get organized and plan a longer excursion but it just doesn't happen. I rode 15-26 miles every day this week and had quite a bit of fun doing it?

68 miles so far only stopping for water/snack breaks. Took about 4.5 hours. I've only had a bike for 6 weeks (last time I rode a bike I was 12) and am loving the longer rides already as it gives me a nice break from the shorter more intense rides I try to do during the week. The goal will be to do a 100 miler here in the next month or so. I'm enjoying bicycling a bit more than I'd expected, and I see a road bike in my 2011 plans.

I like riding a lot but finding the time to push myself to try a longer ride seems to escape me?

Lately my longest ride was 42 kilometers.
When I was 15 though, we rode back from summer camp in the south of the country with the boyscouts and did about 140 kilometers in one day, but we did stop for lunch and refreshments from time to time and the trip took all day.

50 miles last weekend (did 45 miles today). Actually, the 50 mile ride was 47.5 to the doorstep, but I topped it up with a few loops in the local park to get to 50. I'm reasonably comfortable with this (though my bum starts to protest after 40 miles), but my wife says she gets bum ache after 20 miles. New saddles were ordered today. Selle Italia for the wife, and a Charge Spoon for my own bum. Assuming they arrive in time, we'll be able to test them this week. We're hoping to do Swindon to Cardiff (UK): 150 miles in 4 days. Should be fun

150 mile MS Ride over 2 days (75 miles each day). Called the "City to Shore Ride", from Cherry Hill NJ to Ocean City NJ, and back to Cherry Hill the next day. Wow, was I tired, but felt a real sense of personal accomplishment !

My long distance riding was quite a few years ago, but my longest 1 day ride was 100 miles (160 km) and my longest multi day ride was about 700 miles (1100 km) over 11 days. Those we on a road bike.

These days I ride a hybrid to work about 4 days a week and my ride is about 8.5 miles (14 km) each way.

I've gone 100-110 miles in a day on two separate occasions, out riding on the Prairie Path west of Chicago.

On a hybrid bike, my longest would be 22 miles, on a road bike, my longest would be 95 miles.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier is a cycling vacation I did 30 years ago when I was 15. Leaving from The Netherlands, we were driven to Belgium (bikes on the roof) by the parents of the friend I was with. We made our way to Luxembourg, then France (waved on by a friendly Gendarme who did remark that one of us ought to be over 16 if we were to cross the border (my mate was 15 as well)). In France, we cycled down to Strassbourg, and then made our way up to Aachen in Germany (much of that following the Rhine Valley), then back into The Netherlands at Eindhoven. Then we got a train back home. As I recall, we did about 1500 kms in two weeks, and we didn't ride on all days. We were doing 100-150 km days.

This was 1980. We were on 3 speed bikes with stock saddles meant for riding around town. The ones we'd ride to school. We did not have padded shorts. In fact, we wore cotton clothing. We carried camping and cooking equipment. I don't remember having saddle sores. Just an incredible sense of freedom as we were on our own with no parents around.

I think I'd struggle to do that ride 30 years later on my fancy 24 speed bike and cycling specific clothing. I definitely wouldn't want to carry the cramping gear...

When I was younger (ahem.. cough ... 20 years ago cough...) I used to do 50 mile roadie trips fairly regularly but that stopped when I got to 30. However a couple of years ago I decided to do a sportive challenge ride for charity, and that was 55 miles, my longest ever, on a cheapo hybrid.
