"07 Sirrus Drop Bar Conversion

Decided to upgrade my "07 Sirrus to Drop bars. I also replaced the stock wheels from the crappy Joytech hubs with Alex R500 rims to Mavic CXP 33 with Ultegra hubs. I wanted some really shallow drops so I went with Orgin 8 Pro lite alloy with a 120 MM drop and a 70 reach and 40cm wide. The Brifers are Sora and believe it or not work fine with the linear brakes; however, I did add a travel agent on the front to shorten up the travel.

I discovered that the travel agent wasn't configured right. I corrected it and added the rear one as well.

Three rides in I've learned that the Nexave front derailleur just wasn't up to drill with brifters. Replaced it with an Ultegra triple and took a week to get it dialed in. It amazing how dumb luck factors into things. Initially I couldn't get it to shift at all and I took it to my box store LBS. As it turns out they swore up and down that the Ultegra front derailleur didn't have enough cable pull to shift across all chainwheels. Well, I ordered an Tiagra triple; however, in the meantime I took the bike home and continued to work on it off and on for the rest of the evening. Somewhere around the witching hour I managed to get the derailleur cage tuned just so and it started to work perfectly. Now the last step is to rig generator lights..

Nice! I should post my sirrus sport conversion, it's a bit dirty right now though but I used bar-end shifters and v-brake levers with my conversion... got a nashbar carbon fork to upgrade the steel one that is my sirrus right now, want my bars higher too.

I like the stem you've got on your bike.

Oddly enough, it's the stock stem. :thumb:
