it's suppose to allow it to flex and pic up some road vibrations.

I bought a Sirrus about a month ago and love it, it's my first bike since my Huffy about 15 years ago.
I went with the base model over the Sport / Elite, because I honestly could not tell the difference when riding them. Since then I changed my pedals to MKS Lux Platforms, switched the tires to 700x25c Continental Gatorskins, and recently added a Cateye Strada computer. Inverting the stem is something new I learned and I'll try it out tonight.
Eventually I would like to switch out the drivetrain to a Shimano 105 or equivalent SRAM, but I'll do that once I hit 3000 miles and work my way to a point where I can really benefit from the upgrade.
I love my bike
