700c x 32mm Question
 

Ok, the go is I've been offered a set of Kenda 32mm tyres. As I've mentioned many times before, my frame has restrictions.

Could those of you whom have 32mm on 700's please measure the height (rim to tread) of your tyre for me, and let me know the result. I have exactly 30mm gap from rim to frame. To swap the tyres on my SUN rims is a pain in the arse, so I wanted some feedback to avoid wasting my time. :thumb:

I have a FX7.5 and my wife has a FX7.3; both have 700x32 Bontrager Racelite Hardcase tires, but the wheels are not the same.

The best I can tell, the OD of rim to OD of tire dimensions are 31.0 mm and 32.5 mm.

Consider that that those numbers are for our wheels & tires, not yours.

Thankyou very much for measuring for me. Unfortunately this isn't the news I hoped for. Since my available gap is only 30mm, I could be up poo poo creek.

I can't do any measurements, but I'd guess a 32 just isn't going to work. If these are for your C'dale, it's a Bad Boy yes? IIRC, essentially isn't the concept that one can run 700c road (disc) wheels on what is essentially a 26" (559) mtb frame fork, with (Just!) clearance for, say, 700x28c tires? Wider tires require dropping back to 559 rims -- that's what I'd do.

Howdy dudy I've got 35's but any info is good info. I got the vernia calipers out and mine are 35.5 wide and 36mm high.
I've got 28's to but not on a rim.

I have a set up Kenda Kwick Roller Sport 700X32C tires on my Rocky Mountain.

Inflated to normal, I have measured from the outer edge of the rim to the top of the tire and it is ~ 27-28 mm.
The tires have 1,500 km on them but are not worn very much.

I'm going now to try them on. I'll take the gamble with the clearanceand I'll let you know the result tonight.

Ok the tyres are on with a 1mm clearance. Yehhhhhhh.

So the width is exactly 32mm and height is 29mm exactly. (used calipers to measure)

Wow thats close and should give a nice ride thats one good point about larger tires is you can play with the pressures more.

If you pick up a tack, your frame will probably knock it off before it penetrates the tube. :)

Don't take it off road in wet conditions!

I'm loving the ride on these tyres as they are an amaizing change in comfort. They are a lot noisier than what I'm used but that's cool.
I feel like I'm riding a 4WD. Remember I'm from a roadie background so this is new to me.
