Different Cannondale models advice
 

Just wondering which I would be getting better value for? Is the price difference going to be worth it? Which would you plump for?

http://velospace.org/node/6200 - Here is what I would hopefully be turning it into for the winter months, would the weird sized rims on the Leisure Lakes models be able to accommodate larger, more mountain bikey style tyres? or do I need to go for the 700c model. I know the above link is the Suspension model, but I am not fussed about that, just wondering if I can fit similar tyres for colder months, and revert back to slimmer road ones for warmer months =)

The bike in the velospace pic doesn't have 700mm rims. You cannot do this with a badboy and 700mm rims. I have one, and the largest tyre I can use is a 32mm small block on the 700s. Recommended by Cannondale is only 28mm as you won't be able to fit the mudguards on with 32mm.

So I if you get the disc BadB with 700, you can also buy a set of 26" disc wheels to swap in the winter months, and swap the 700s back for the summer road cruising. This is why the Cannondale Badboy disc is a true hybrid. ie. you can change it easily from road to MTB.
If you choose the regular brakes, you can't swap.

So which model would you go for then?

Seriously I don't think there is much difference between the two. I'm sure you'll be happy either way.
For some reason I like the CANNONDALE Bad Boy Fatty Alivio Disc 700c. I don't know why though.

FYI, I love my Badboy Disc although a few things broke during the first 1.5 to 2 years. They were the avid components which neither of your bikes have. My cannondale seat post snapped (C4) and I'm only 60kg. It snapped where the two pieces join. That's ok because I replaced it with a one piece post. The seat post clamp also wore a hole through where the bolt rubbed. I think Cannondale has changed that clamp on your choices.

...but both I could fit the larger tyres and/or wheels to come winter time? they both come with Disc breaks so, i think it should be ok?

I am leaning towards the CANNONDALE Bad Boy Fatty Rigid 9 (Alivio) just because of the slightly better components.

I can't see any reason why you couldn't swap wheels on either disc bikes.

I decided to go with the newer Bad Boy rigid 9 (2012), it was 599.99, and at Drakes Cycles you get 15% of the order free, so I also got TOTALLY FREE a Kryptonite NY 3000 lock, which usually goes for around 80 quid.

I will be getting some mudguards online too today =)
