Cannondale's SAVE (Synapse Active Vibration Elimination) system in its forks and hourglass-shaped chainstays, designed to reduce high frequency vibrations from the road.
The way they shape these parts helps quell the bumps in the road. My experience is not based on scientific tests just a seat of the pants observation based on riding various bikes. It takes a major road deficiency to make things uncomfortable on my bad boy and for a fully rigid aluminum bike that is saying something. |
it reduces vibrations

Ooooh. Looks nice. It looks similar to the FX, but it has a carbon fork. The carbon fork will help the ride. According to bikepedia, the bike was only made in 2011. It looks pretty sweet. Yes, pics when you get it. And a ride report, too.

There is probably a better thread for this, but I'm wondering what the threshold for road bike vs. hybrid is... in other words, what would make you choose a hybrid over a road bike??
