Frame pump for hybrid
 

I will be using a Gary Fisher Nirvana to commute and generally tool around town. It weighs a lot but it seems to be solid as a rock.

It has 700x35 tires that I'll be inflating to 75-80 psi (60-80 psi is recommended on the tire). I really like the Topeak Morph pump but would like some advice.

Am I better off with the Road Morph which is a high pressure pump or a Mountain Morph which is a high volume pump? Both will inflate to 160 psi, not that I need it. Would it make a difference if I chose one over the other?

That's a good question, I have never owed either one. But (HAVE) bought the wrong pump for a bike before. Looked up both for you and will post the links with lots of reviews on both. Best I could do. Richard

No experience with the Mountain Morph, but I think the Road Morph is an excellent pump. I have two main road bikes that I ride and kept forgetting to switch my pump from one to the other often enough that I just bought a second Road Morph. I don't know if they still come with the same mount as what came with mine, but that's the only thing I didn't like about it. I ended up using this mount from Performance on both bikes(http://www.performancebike.com/bikes..._1031038_-1___). It mounts where your water bottle does and lets you keep the water bottle.
It works great but you have to microwave the mount a few seconds and squeeze it down to make it clamp tightly enough on the Road Morph. If the barrel of the Mountain Morph is a bit bigger, that mount might work without the microwave treatment. I'd expect the Mountain Morph to function just as well as the Road version, and that's what I'd probably go for with 35c tires. If I didn't already have a Zefal pump that gets the job done well enough with my hybrid, I'm sure I'd have a Mountain Morph, too.

I don't have a co2 pump yet but I commute in urban setting where there is a gas station close at all times so I just have a schrader to presta adaptor for that use case.

I've also got that pump and it works great and I inflate my tires to Max PSI of 85#.

I have a topeak road morph and it is awesome for road tires. It takes a lot of pumping to get a 700x35 inflated, that's the advantage of the mountain morph. The big disadvantage of it is that it only comes with a center mount, at least when I bought mine in 2010, that was true. I highly prefer a side mount so I can still use the bottle cages.

I also have a topeak micro rocket carbon and I wouldn't want to inflate my 700x45 hybrid tires with it.

+1 to ColinL & Pendergast. I'm running 700*35 contis having worn out some 700*35 Vittoria Randos. The road morph works fine; although I've also used an old zefal I have around. I prefer the morph since it has a gauge on it that's accurate 'nuff for filling with no hassle. The zefal was probably a little quicker, but not 'nuff to really complain about.
