He might just want some figures to see if he is in the range of other riders. I use my phone to track, I almost always average 12-15 mph on various loops around the city on my hybrid for 20-30 mile fitness rides. Stoplights, traffic are an issue, limestone paths seem to slow me down 1-2 mph.

Why is there always so much bickering back and forth on this forum?
To the OP: If you're enjoying your ride, getting your heart rate up for a sustained period, finding yourself going faster and farther over time, and feeling refreshed after a ride, then you're riding at a respectable speed.

You know the answer to that. The only answer for ALL bickering on all forums on the internet. LOL.

There's an approximately 8 km section in the middle of my 25km commute where I usually average around 33 to 35km/h on non windy days, and I can maintain 37 to 38 for a couple of Minutes at a time. Full disclosure - my commute is almost entirely flat, so it's not like I'm riding these speeds uphill! :-) I have a performance hybrid with flat bars, bar
ends, and 700x28 tires.
