Join the "Hybrid Riders Group"

For those who may be interested I created a group specifically for hybrid riders. I'm not sure if there are already existing groups like this but that's okay. In this group flaming and rudeness will not be tolerated so if you are a kind, intelligent human being who loves your hybrid bike and wants to share stories and ideas with other like-minded folks please join! :thumb:

I'm lost here...isn't that what we are currently using? I thought that we are already in a Hybrid Forum, in which the moderators ensure that there are no flaming or rudeness comments. Doesn't creating yet another area just increase their job?

The mods seem to condone rudeness because there are plenty of people on these forums who fit that bill and nothing is done about it so I thought creating an actual group might allow better control over those types of folks. I can see this already and I haven't been on these forums very long. That's what you get in a public forum though, I understand that. Groups are controlled by the creator, not the moderators and you can delete members who act up. Look, I'm here to have a good time and learn more about cycling, not reading pointless and rude comments from certain people who don't seem to have anything better to do than gripe about posts.

Again whats the difference? People will be sensitive to some things no matter where they are. Plus if you think people in the Hybrid thread are rude maybe you should take a peek at the Road Cycling.

The, GROUPS on BF, are more specialized kinda like owners groups, at least that's what I've seen by looking around, what the heck, the more the merrier I say! Where it's really easy to just click on the Hybrid Forum for anyone on BF, the Group may just keep out some of the hybrid naysayers, that show up from time to time, jmho, ymmv, have a most excellent day! :)

I don't think many people are aware of the groups and know what they do. Seems like it will take a while to get a lot of members. Oh well....no rush.

I've actually had a very pleasant time here on the Hybrid forum since I registered. I haven't come across anything I would consider too rude (and I know exactly what you're referring to, helmet discussions can get heated) but mostly friendly people. Good luck with your group, though.

For the most part everyone is. But a private group that has more control could be cool too! ;)
