Narrower tires on a Sirrus?
I was at my LBS over the weekend. I was talking with them about going to a different tire on my Sirrus. I currently have the stock 32s on there. We were discussing moving to a bit more of a road bike tire that would be a little lighter and a little smoother. We also talked about going with something narrower (25 or 23). I do most all of my riding on the road, every once in a great while I go on a packed dirt or gravel kind of trail.
Has anyone done this with this bike or a similar set up? Any thoughts, positives or negatives, anything I should consider?

Haven't done this with a Sirrus but I went from 32's to 25's on my 2011 Jamis Allegro 1, after a couple of hundred miles, I think I'll put on 28's as the ride with 25's is a bit harsh. Now it's got a lowly cro-mo fork, not a carbon fiber unit so that may cause some of it, ie: the 25's get a bit squiggly on even hardpacked dirt, jmho, ymmv.

Assuming you mean specialized sirrus, yes, I have used 25s with it. Which are great on road and dirt; not so good on gravel.

I own 2 Sirrus'. They both came with 25c tires on them when purchased. I have subsqently switched to 32c tires on both,
mostly for a smoother ride. I generally ride for distance, not speed, so having fatter tires is not an issue for me.

My 2012 Sirrus Comp came with 28s and I find them to be perfect. Not too harsh and still move along nicely, but I am only riding paved. Wouldn't want to do gravel with these tires though. I wouldn't go narrower unless I was gonna be racing for pink slips.
