Giant Cypress DX vs. Trek 7.2 vs. DiamondBack Insight 2
Hey there! I'm very new to the bike world. I haven't ridden a bike in over ten years, but I've recently gotten the itch again. It seems like the best bike to suit my needs would be a hybrid. I'm looking to mainly go on casual road and bike trails. There won't be any heavy off-roading (maybe some tightly-packed smooth dirt paths would be the most "off-road" I'd be doing). Anyway, does anybody have any opinions on the three bikes I listed in the title? They're all around the same sub-$500 price range I'm looking for. I also noticed most local bike shops don't carry DiamondBack, too - is that because they're a lower-end bike or a brand I should avoid?
Also, would riding on dirt with a 700x32c on the Insight 2 be much different than the Giant's 38c? The Trek 7.2 FX seemed to be in between at 35c. Do those widths really make that big of a difference?

Diamondbacks r sold thru REI & Dick's Sporting Goods. Of the 3 choices listed, the Trek 7.2FX has better components, as well as resale value. Most bike companies have various levels of bikes. Some lower & some higher end bikes. Xmart bikes r generally lower than any major brand's lowest.

I have a 2003 Giant Cypress DX, change out the saddle with a hole in it, lower the bars, (at the adjustable neck) and it is quite comfy.
