Intro and question on converting to drop handlebars.

Hey guys, name is Patrick. 24 and I live in North Jersey. Been riding all my life (mostly BMX and mountain). Just got into hybrid/road bikes. I bought a matte black Trek FX 7.2 which is awesome and I've been riding hard. However, I do wish I could have drop handlebars like road bikes. I saw in the picture thread that a member has done this. Has anyone else? What does it entail?

edit: found more on that topic than I would have thought. Spare me the process, but if you've done it before please let me know what you think.

I look forward to helping you guys out with questions and also getting insight from you all.

The OP has a Trek 7.2 FX, and the disc brakes don't start until the 7.3, so v-brakes.

I just asked because I saw this linkhttp://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rc...bl7s6Qfyi6CSJg showing disc brakes.
I was also hoping to suggest the new TRP converter to match cable actuated road levers to hydraulic disc brakes. Now that I've said it Sram is also releasing a converter. I'm getting one as soon as there available. :D

Yea I do have v-brakes. Even though there is a lot of talk about it on the Internet no one really gives you a step by step on how they did it. I'm going to talk to a bike shop and see what I can do. I really do not enjoy that straight up posture. I want something more aerodynamic while still keeping a hybrid design.

Interesting. Mine is a 2013 and I don't have disc brakes.
