New Hybrid tomorrow!
Hey everyone, been lurking for a while, what a great site. After hemming and hawing I decided to pull the trigger on a 2013 Quick SL 3. I ordered it in early August and it finally came in, pick it up tomorrow after the kids football game...Pretty pumped!

Congrats, that's a nice looking machine, might want to get some Ergon Grips, (better than the OEM versions, jmho), and some bar ends, I like the Origin 8 "long" versions but even the short versions give you a couple my "hand placement" areas for longer rides, ENJOY!!

Thanks...and thanks for posting that pic, I don't know if I can post pics yet! Quite a difference from the old Bianchi Ocelot. Took it for a 15 mile ride tonight and love it so far. Keeping a 15mph pace on flat roads is pretty effortless. I was so excited to go for a spin I failed to check the tire pressure, so I checked it when we got home...the front was 60psi and the rear was 40, (tires take up to 85) so I bumped them up to 80. Probably will roll even easier now. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with the wife on her caad 10! And I did have some short bar ends installed for now (rubberized ones by Specialized), and also installed a small clip type GPS mount for my GPS. The only thing I did not like is the HARDness of the seat...any suggestions? Maybe I just need to add some muscle back there for more padding.

Enjoy. I got a 2012 Quick 3 and I believe it is about the same as SL-3 . It is a great bike.

I don't get why Cannondale upgraded to an SL frame in 2013, but totally downgraded the tires to Kenda Kwick Bitumen. I feel like an almost $1000 hybrid should come with a tire that has more performance tread and runs narrower.

Ya, the tires have a little more tread than I'd hoped, but no biggie. We'll see how well I keep up with the wife, as tires may be my first upgrade. C-Dale also spec's out the 2013 SL3 with having Alivio shifters and front derailler, and alloy pedals...when I showed up it had Acera shifters and front derailler, and plastic pedals- which is a downgrade I believe. So I called them out on it, (Papa Wheelies in Portsmouth N.H.)they looked it up and agreed, and they switched out the front derailler to an Alivio, switched out the pedals for alloys with straps, and didn't have the Alivio shifters in stock (and their supplier was backordered) so they ordered me some Deore shifters! Chalk one up for Papa Wheelies. Not trying to be anal, just hate to pay big money for a bike that doesn't come with what is advertised on the specs...if I wanted a cheaper bike I would have went with a Quick 4!

I bought a Trek where the valves on the tubes were much too short for the wheels. When I pulled the tires I saw Kenda stamped on the tubes. Trek only installs Bontrager. This bike came from another Trek shop (who assembled it) to my LBS with those tubes so I didn't make a fuss over it. In the overall scheme of things, I was worried more about other issues. But, when I got the bike home I went over every component and checked it to the specs...
It was then I realized Trek had taken some shortcuts on the Crank Group and the brakes (they were Alivio and everything else was Deore and SLX). On the specs, Trek just listed the Shimano part numbers for those cheaper parts but somehow forgot to mention their 'family' name which most people would have recognized as cheaper components than what was on the rest of the bike.

I wouldn't be giving the LBS too much credit for restoring the bike to its original components until you know who swapped them out to begin with...
