Please help my wife buy a bike!

Hi all,

As promised, I donated $50 to the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition to thank you for helping me pick out my bike.

Now my wife wants a new one. A little help? :o

She's small: 5 ft tall. She wants something small and light. Need to get something under $1000.

Use: She's going to go on AIDS Lifecycle with it. Otherwise she'll do a little casual urban riding.

What do you guys think?

Trek 7.4 WSD in a 13" frame perhaps? http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/colle.../fx/7_4_fx_wsd

My wife is also 5' tall, and it was hard to find a bike that fit her. She is thrilled with this in 42 cm:

For $350, it was a heck of a buy.

(I "upgraded" to a shorter, non-adjustable stem and aluminum riser bars.)

Note that the above photo is NOT the 42cm, it is their stock photo.

This link is for the KHS Vitamin C fitness bike: http://khsbicycles.com/bikes/2013-khs-models/vitamin-c/ This bike comes in a 13 inch mens frame that my 5'0" wife with only a 26 inch inseam, fit's very nicely and has enjoyed greatly. Now she rides a 2011 KHS Vitamin B but when it wears out we will get her a Vitamin C. The Vitamin C is just over $800 so it's within your price range. Here's a couple of photo's of Jo with her Vitamin B. one with the stock flat bars and one with her new "trekking bars".
