Show me your upgraded pedals (platform or cage)!
7.5 FX with stock pedals. With regular running sneakers I have not felt super secure on them yet. The design is a rounded wave cage around the pedal. Thinking of taking a Drexel tool to them to make sharper peaks to grip my shoes vs. the rounded stock design.
IF I were to get new pedals, and not going SPD, it seems like only MTB platforms really exist that offer more grip than what I have on the stock....
Suggestions and showing what you run is appreciated.

Just put these MKS PRIME SYLVAN ROAD pedals on my trekking/weekend hybrid, with chromed steel toe clips with straps

Just put these Tioga Spyder Pedals on my Trek Sawyer.
Old cheap Redline pedals just took off Sawyer.
I put these Sylvan Touring Pedals on my Kona Dr. Fine back in the summer.
These pedals came with the Kona...now on the Motobecane Jubilee.
These are Wellgo platforms now on my wife's Jubilee.
All seem to be quite grippy!

I used to use these. Great pedal but a little on the heavy side. Lots and lots of grip.

On my Trek 7.4FX I installed these Answer Rove Pedals -superb grip, pedal width and comfort.

I like my Fisher Zebrano but the plastic platform pedals had very little grip when they were new and after two years they were almost smooth. I replaced them with these from Nashbar and it was like night and day difference. Simple, inexpensive and effective.

I use the DiamondBack sound pedal on my Giant Escape 2. It has a concave aluminum body and replaceable pins for customization. And they’re priced great at $16.00 bucks a pair.

Are the stock pedals the same wellgo's that are on the 7.2 fx? I've found them pretty good although I'm swapping them over to Shimano m324 so I can go duel use.

Here is an alternative to clipless pedals and they allow you to wear any type of shoe you want..

Screws give better grip and retention than pins and perform equally well on cheap or expensive pedals. Bearings are another story. Both the EVO and MEC claim to be sealed bearings, but from what I can see it just means you can't take them apart. I can't get more than a season out of the EVO's
Both the 1664 and the NS Bikes are available on sealed and unsealed versions which makes them more resistant to rain, snow and mud. The NS Bikes are the most expensive but the more you pay the less you get - less weight, less maintenaince and less wear. And they're made in Canada.
One of my buddies runs Straitlines on his DH bike. Nice pedals, but for $175 they better be! Haven't tried those yet but fietsbob has talked me into some Ergons - they're on order.

I'm thinking about going with some mini toe clips. Not sure how comfortable I'd be yet with the straps and being able to get my feet out quickly if needed.
