New Trek 7.2FX Disc Owner here...
Hey all,
I just picked up a brand new Trek 7.2FX Disc last week. I had been riding my Trek 520 touring bike as a commuter, but wanted to get something with disc brakes. I did some research and settled on the 7.2FX Disc.
I love the new bike. I am a casual rider. I try and commute to work regularly (16 miles round trip) but typically ride about 30 to 50 miles per week. I am not a performance biker, but enjoy riding.
The 7.2FX Disc is a comfortable bike. I like the upright riding position - I find it more comfortable for casual (low speed) riding and great for commuting. The bike components are decent and the disc brakes do a great job of stopping. I wanted discs for braking in wet/snowy weather. The frame is nicely constructed and it is comfortable to ride (not overly stiff or rigid).
I might eventually upgrade some of the components as they wear out to nicer quality ones, but for now I'll just keep riding my new bike as much as possible.

You got yourself a nice one. You'd have to do some extra heavy duty cycling to wear the components out on that bike.

I have a 2010 Trek 7.2 FX (non-Disc) and I love it. My only real complaint with the bike has been the grips, but for 30 dollars I fixed the issue with Ergon GP2 grips.
Good choice on a great bike! How about some pics of it??

Congratulations on finding a bike you obviously enjoy riding. You are describing many of the reasons we all enjoy hybrid bikes! The only caution I would offer is to avoid upgrading for the sake of buying new bike stuff. If something doesn't seem right after riding the bike for a while then change to something better designed. Tires, pedals and gearing can be possible candidates for improving the ride.
