They will look fine if they fit on the rims, and i don't think they will; looking at the specs for your bike (Carrera X-Fire 2), stock it has 45mm tires, would be surprised if you can fit anything smaller than a 35mm tire on these with out the rim being too wide.

I was running 26's (that measured 25) on 23mm wide (external) rims and had no problems with "looks".
It made a huge difference in riding pleasure vs the pig 35mm that were on it.
Who cares what it "looks" like?

I'm running 700x28 on my Specialized Crosstrail hybrid. I'm a big guy at around 290 - not fat, just big lol Bike rides much faster on 28s than on stock 45s. It lost some of the comfort, and I have to have my eyes open much wider scanning the road ahead for cracks and other imperfections. It's well worth upgrade for speed, but if I was a commuter on crappy city roads - I would stick with wider tire. No...bike wont look silly with 25 size, and don't forget it's all about you - not some other guy. If you like it, you want it - go for it.

I run 25's on my GT hybrid that came with 42's originally. 25's is as narrow as my rim (Alex ACE-17) could safely run.

Schwalbe has a good chart on their site to help.
