Looking to buy for my wife - Trek FX or Cannondale Quick?

Good day all.

First time visiting the hybrid forum. My wife currently has a clunky, heavy '08 Specialized Myka MTB. I want to buy her something more enjoyable to ride as well as maintain a moderate pace while I cruise with her on my cross bike.

The LBS carries Trek and Cannondale, so I'm looking at the FX (WSD) and Quick series of bikes.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with either of these bikes? Specs aside, I'm looking for:

- Carbon fork
- 28-32mm tires
- Double crankset

Thanks in advance!!

Have HER ride them, and have HER pick the one she wants........ Nothing worse than her wishing she had something else......................

Believe me, I will. She is making this purchase, but I'm trying to find out as much info as I can. My question was looking for anyone's experience with either bike.

the 7.6 WSD had all the options you are looking for. big price tag though. I agree with wanderer in that she should ride and and see which one she likes best.

That's easy, whichever one she likes best! They both have lower and higher end models in their series, the higher the model the nicer they ride, imo. I couldn't quite get comfortable on the FX frame so I chose the Cannondale which felt perfect. The Quick 3, to be exact. It's a great hybrid, very nimble, agile, and pretty darn quick. Carbon fork helps to smooth the ride, too.

Of the FX's, I did prefer the 6. But I liked the Cannondale ride better, and the frame geometry suited me better. Once I rode it I knew it was my bike. I'm sure your wife will have a preference too.

Thro the Specialized Sirrus in there, and ride themall. One bike is goig to jump out as the most comfortable, and fun, bike to ride.

I am a Specialized Sirrus and Trek 7.5Fx owner and cant choose between them its like deciding which of your wives to divorce. I would go for the light option on what ever bike unless you want to ride on dirt tracks

I have a Quick SL1 which I moved to from a Trek 7500. Really like the SL-1 - very light weight, carbon fork, 32 mm tires, handles well, and speedy. A little pricey but on par with the Trek 7.6 I think. My wife actually has a new Quick CX-1 which she has been raving about as well though more of a MTB set-up with triple cranks and suspension fork.
