whats the best seat to use on a hybrid,,,that is comfortable and light......I am riding a trek 750

Now I'm riding an EVOKE-1 http://bontrager.com/features/evoke , it's like sitting on a brick wall. But not painful, just not comfortable. Probably going saddle shopping myself today. :popcorn

Wouldn't say it's very light, as you could probably find much lighter, but I've found the Avenir City 100 Series that came with my Raleigh very comfortable-no matter what distance I ride(2 miles vs 50 miles). Even when I come to a complete stop, I don't find the need to dismount. Of course, seats like bikes in general would depend on the person riding I think. If you go to your LBS, I'm sure they would let you test out a couple seats to find the right one.From what I've noticed, light seats are usually hard as a rock vs comfortable seats are usually too soft, so you just have to sit on a few to figure out what's perfect for you.

As above, get to a bike shop and they will let you test the saddles out. All our saddle bones are different so no-one on a forum can give you correct advice.
We can give opinions from our experience, so for me, my two choices for my saddle bones are the Fizik Antares Carbon and Specialized Romin SL. Both are excellent for me for rides in excess of 100km etc..

I'm a Brooks guy, and love the B-17. It's not for everyone, and it isn't lite, but works extremely well for me.

That being said, the Specialized Body Geometry Saddles are lite, and quite comfortable.

Go try some different saddles, and find out what fits you.

I love my Forte Pro SL. Very reasonable price and light.

Unfortunately, everyone has a different opinion of what is comfortable. Seems like we all go through a few seats before we settle on one we like.

What he said. I'm relatively new at all this, but I seriously don't see how people ride long distances without a leather saddle. I have Brooks on two of my bikes and Selle Anatomica on the other two and like them both. Personally, I think the Brooks Flyer is the perfect hybrid saddle, but the B17 is the same thing without the springs.

Best that you get measured at a LBS and talk to some of the guys that work there. I screwed around with several saddles before making the smart move to get measured. I also had a long discussion w/ a knowledgable salesman who steered me into a great saddle that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I've ridden the bike several times and I have no numbness like before thus allowing my balls to heal. Good luck!

I have the SSR like xoxo does now and I have no numbness or anything like that, but after the ride, my tail bone is noticeably sore. just my .02 cents.

The Trek dealer that fitted me, said there is this cradle effect you sit in. He first measured me, then adjusted some, then had me ride while he was watching. Asked where I felt the saddle etc.. I went 10 miles last night and felt nothing but comfort. Same on my ride today, that's what the pros are for.. Best fit I've ever had, and under 50. dollars..:thumb: (cost of the new seat) already had returned the other..

on the ssr? I need to get mine checked then.
