Narrowing down models
Hello everyone,
I am looking for any and all types of input regarding the following models. I will be in the market soon to upgrade from my large frame, 2011 Diamondback Edgewood. I am transitioning out of recreational riding to fitness, road, distance and some groomed trail riding(very low percentage of my typical usage). I will NOT be going the MTB route. I am drawn to the following models based on my likes and dislikes of my current ride. If you have any further model suggestions, please let me know. Specialized - Crosstrail Comp Disc, MSRP $1200 TREK - Dual Sport DS 8.5, MSRP $1200 Cannondale - Quick CX2, MSRP $1100 Giant - Roam 0, MSRP $980 |
Based on your usage needs, I think you should also consider the Giant AnyRoad which will be new in North America for the 2014 model year. Might be available this September.
The #1 factor here is test riding and seeing how you personally feel on them. I have test driven "crosstrail" type bikes from all of the brands you mentioned and I thought the Giant felt the best, Specialized really good, Cannondale OK and Trek was bland. But the next person could easily come up with completely different ratings as it is YOUR body that must determine how they feel for you. |
