Suited up, ready to ride, and... :(

Yesterday, I was pumping up the back tire when the bike fell over and broke off the Presta valve tip. Made a quick trip to a neighborhood Dick's Sporting Goods and bought a couple of new tubes. The new tube was on the rim and inflated in a couple of minutes. I cost me $8.00 for the two tubes. We rode an hour later than we had planned.

We put a bunch of mileage on our bikes today. It was enjoyable. I am behind schedule on the release of a magazine I publish, but, it will go live tomorrow. No biggie.

When I first started ramping up my mileage I had the same thing happen at 5:30am as I was preparing to beat the heat during summer. With only the one spare tube in my seat bag, I didn't want to risk the ride so I waited until the LBS opened and bought some spares. Since then, I always keep a two spare tubes of all the required sizes on hand (no small feat with 7 bikes in the household).

Good on you for getting out there and delaying work (for a little while)!

Well, this one has 155,000 anxious readers. The good news is that my wife and I enjoyed our ride once we hit the road. Now, we have to wait through two days of rain. After that, we ride again. ~~oVo

What magazine is it if you don't mind sharing that info? Anything to do with your Get Happy site? (which looks very interesting BTW.)
