Kickstand, rack and foldable basket
IF YOU WANTED to install kickstand, rack and foldable basket on your hybrid which ones would you buy and why? Thanks!

I would look for a rack that is designed to actually carry things, like panniers, etc. These have wider spaced braces, to help keep stuff out of your wheels.
Kickstands are debatable, as to type. I prefer a standard Greenfield, for ease of use. Foldable baskets would be what I already have. Grocery Panniers from Performance, because they hold a lot, are light, and fold completely flat when not in use. They also do not rattle. Folding then completely flat only involves a few monkey balls. They are also very light weight. |
I don't know about rack & basket (I do those lightweight string-type backpacks when I need to carry anything) but I do LOVE the idea of the UPSTAND. (upstandingbicycle.com)
However.....I don't like their price. I stubbornly refuse to give them $40 for that thing. So for now, I choose to "lean". I'm darn-near a lean-to pro anymore. ;) |
What bike? Bikes vary greatly, and a rack that fits one bike might not fit another properly. See what others who own the same bike as yours are using and go from there. Also helpful to go by local shops to do some test fitting.

I just use the cheapest x-mart kick stands.
I have the folding Wald baskets on my grocery getter. They ARE heavy, but OTOH, I can pack 50 lbs. in them. Installing them added enough weight that I got a 2nd bike for pleasure/distance riding. |
