Seek Giant Cypress LX Frame Information

Bought a new Giant Cypress LX in 2008 in Blue/Grey color, but erred on frame size. It's a 19" (large) frame, and it's uncomfortable for me since I have a shorter stride. Only rode it about a dozen times due to this. Took it to a local bike shop today which sells Giant bikes. They said I should have purchased a 17" frame. The bike is perfect for me other than the frame size. I can search for a similar frame such as a DX or LX Giant or maybe a Sedona ST, but I'm not sure what's compatible. If I can find and purchase a 17" frame, then the local bike shop will swap the components for me at a cost of $100 to $150. Two questions:

1. What Giant models have frames identical to the Giant Cypress LX?
2. Does this swap seem to be the best choice and is this conversion price about right?

Maybe get a different stem to move the bars back?

Check your local craigslist. I have a boulder, sedona, cypress, and a couple other mtb's listed. Also check ebay for a used frame or frame set. No frame is going to be identical unless it's another cypress, but some will come closer than others, even if it's from another brand.

Post to your local craigslist, for even up trade for right size. Maybe someone locally has the exact same problem in reverse.

Good suggestion, and I'll check with the local bike shop about it.

I've searched in surrounding states on Craigslist, and I found a Cypress DX in the same color, in very good condition, at a fair price. This might be my best bet. Sent a message to the owner, and I'll talk with the local bike shop tomorrow about working with a bike shop in that city to ship it to them locally.

A note, in case your current efforts don't work out and you once again look at swapping parts.

Any Cypress model frame should work to swap parts... the frames are pretty much the same with different forks and/or component mixes. A Sedona would not work, as they are designed for 26" wheels.
