Cannondale Quick 6

I am considering the Cannondale Quick 6 for my first commuter bike to start commuting to grad school which is 3 miles each way (6 miles round trip) on mostly flat city roads with mild to moderate traffic.

Before I splurge (yes, for this broke graduate student, $529 on a bike is a major investment!) I wanted to seek any input from more experienced bikers here who might have this bike or at least be able to offer some feedback on this bike. I should note it comes with free tune ups for a month and adjustments for longer.

Thank you!

You have two threads on the same topic. Not necessary.

Sorry! I wasn't sure where to put it, or if I would get different views from different people who occupy each respective subforum!

Great bike! In fact, it's the one I test rode before going with the Quick 4 & feels very much the same. If you like it *and* it fits you well, I'd say go for it.

But don't pay $529 for it. You should be able to get it under $500, at least. Or if where you're buying from has some stuff you like on the shelves (water bottles, lights, etc) then ask if they'll throw it in.

But definitely thumbs up on the bike!

I just got a new Quick SL1. Only have about 40 miles on it yet.................really crappy stinking winter will not quit here in Indiana. I have a Trek FX 7.5 also and I think I like the SL1 somewhat more then the Trek.............if I ever get the chance to get some time in on it I will find out for certain. Difference is: the Trek is in Florida and the poor SL1 is here in winterland.

The Quick will be a better put together bike BUT if it's a budget buster treasure a look at the Schwinn Varsity Flat Bar or the Scwinn OR2. Both at Target.

They are exceptional value and you could deck it out with racks, lights, whatever you want for the danger price as a basic quick.

Just a thought.

The Cannondale Quick owners seem to be out numbered in these forums and that's okay with me, I don't want what everybody else has anyway. I am a huge fan of the Quicks. But, as someone else already stated, you should be able to get it for under $500.
