Here in Midwestern North America... we are expecting weather just short of 50F tomorrow. I plan to take the rain bike out (salt still on the roads) for hopefully a couple hours.

I've been spinning on a trainer in the garage and doing a little weight training.

No real off season here in Seattle, its just the constant clouds that makes me lose enery to ride. I have a bit of SAd disorder. Which is why I promise to move to the SW as soon as the money comes in.

I was doing a spot of riding at the weekends on my old Diamondback, but the weather since Christmas has been too cold for me to want to venture out. Plus, we've gotten snow, so the MUP's are snowed over, with some ice here and there. I just don't fancy a wipeout right now. That said I got my Trek out for a great ride on Christmas Day, about 20 miles in beautiful 40° weather. Today was warm enough but I was otherwise engaged.

Otherwise, I've been spinning on the Trek on a trainer in the basement. It's very convenient, right next to the beer fridge.

I hate the cold, so I'm done riding (have been for a few months). I'm changing my bike up a bit this winter. Switching my handlebars out for some trekking bars, adding a Brooks Flyer, and window shopping for a trailer to haul my 13 month-old in the spring (well, she'll be 15-16 months by then depending on when the weather breaks). I also picked up a trainer a few days ago so I can be ready when it's time to pull the extra weight.

Having a kidney stone stuck for over six weeks and recuperating from surgery to remove it for the past week. Hopefully I will get back on the bike next weekend. It is 75 today, but since the Super Bowl is here next weekend I'm sure it will be freezing.

30 mile ride two weekends ago in 70 degree weather, doing the usual mix of bay, beach, island rides here in SoCal. New bike arrives Saturday so I expect I'll be on it obsessively all weekend...

Seriously, I wish we had more 'bad' weather - we really, really, could use the rain!!

I live in Swansea, Wales, UK.
I have been properly back cycling for almost 2 years and ride a Boardman Pro hybrid.
I don't 'consider' seasons, I just ride all year round and lately it has been colder.

I still cover around 200-230 miles a month leisure cycling.

As it happens, I am off down to the pier tonight and it is forecast for a balmy 4 degrees.

Been too cold for that here in Northwest Arkansas. I was sidelined for 3 full weeks due to the weather and very short days during Jan. Been better as of late, much more chances.

Been riding as much as possible in windows of milder weather, but even then its often pretty unpleasant. Wind can make it fell very chilly even if it's above 50F. But probable the worst in riding into wind 20-35 MPH (30-55 kph) and gusty, frequently going up a hill (it is not flat here). That just sucks the life out of you. 4-6 more weeks and things will begin to significantly more positive for bike riding.

+1 Portland OR. No off-season for me either - Riding year-round. Did 300 kms in December and 275 kms in January.

But I have a brief story of woe (mine) to cheer you up a bit.

My new bike (Trek 7.4) was supposed to arrive on Friday, and I had scheduled w/the local Trek store pick it up Saturday AM (yesterday) for a whirlwind weekend new-bike honeymoon. Pure bliss.

But no, not so fast...turns out the gods of inclement weather decided to punish me for my hubris. My bike path from the east coast went through Illinois, and on Thursday I found the devastating message below in the tracking status:

Severe weather conditions have delayed delivery. / We’re working to deliver your package as soon as possible.

Scheduled Delivery Updated To:
Monday, 02/09/2015, By End of Day

Monday? End of day MONDAY?! Noooooooooo...

And to add insult to injury, when I checked tracking status on Saturday morning (first thing I do when I wake up each morning, of course!!) I found my bike had arrived in town at 2:03 AM, and was sitting at a UPS station literally 1/2 mile from my local Trek store. The station is closed on the weekends. So my bike has been in town all weekend, so close that I can almost smell that new bike smell, yet totally inaccessible.

I have learned my lesson. I repent gods of frost, I repent lords of ice, I repent masters of snow!
