I have been waiting to see and try out Giant's new flat bar since seeing it on Giant USA's web site last fall. My local shop still hasn't ordered one yet and as a small shop would do so only if sold before ordering.

I've only seen pictures, but it sure looks nice, and has nice specs.

@NormanF would lobby to put Albatross bars in the cockpit of a Formula One car. The man does love his Albatross bars!

I have one, ordered it in December and it arrived a couple of weeks ago. Bike is still at my lbs as I recently had surgery to reattach my quadricep muscle and I have since developed a blood clot. From what the shop owner tells me, Giant way oversold the bike and there will not be anymore 2015's available. I've been able to visit the shop 2 or 3 times just to gaze at it.

There is a fastroad comax 2 hanging at Biker's Edge in Kaysville UT - but I haven't seen it up close. This thread is making me hope I get my comax 1 order filled here soon -- put in the order a couple of weeks ago - they said "March" on ETA.

I have a comax 2 (which is the only option in the UK) and all i can say is that it is fantastic. The frame manages to be nice and stiff for pedaling whilst give a very comfortable ride over typical british roads. The only negative i can give on mine is the wheels could be lighter. Im very happy with mine but i was told when i got it that there was a very limited supply with the next delivery window not until May time.

Looks great. How does it ride? Debating the Fastroad CoMax 1, AnyRoad CoMax, and a Cannondale Quick 1.

I took the aluminum CoMax for a ride a few weeks ago before I bought my 7.5 FX. It's nice, handles very well, and it's quite fast. I'd have purchased it if the FX weren't an option. Other than aesthetics, they handle almost identically. It wins there, and it also comes with disc brakes and narrower tires.

Not sure if this will help answer any questions for you but I picked up my Fastroad SLR 1 last week and I really like it so far. I would say the bike is "as advertised". No surprises either good or bad. It's exactly what I wanted and what I was hoping it would be.

Well I haven't updated this thread in quite awhile so here goes. I placed orders for 2016 FastRoad CoMax 1's, a large for myself and a small for my wife at our LBS (Blue Run Bicycles in Dunnellon, FL).They have already shipped from the warehouse in CA and due in on the 30th. Haven't decided if we'll keep our present Escape RX Composites for travel bikes or sell them. They have to live off the back of our RV for 3 months each year. Oh well decisions, decisions.... Looking forward to the end of the month

I just picked my XL 2016 Fastroad CoMax 2. It appears "the 2016 Giant bike boat has landed"...

RickGr4 -- other than the cable rattling you unfortunately encountered, was it an awesome bike?

So far it's been great. I get a little bit of the cable rattle but doesn't really bother me. I came from drop bar road bikes so the riding position will take some getting use to... However it is comfortable and plenty fast. I'm hoping to put a lot of miles on this bike in the near future. The only negative I have is the lack of braze ons for racks.

Yes, other than the "cable rattling" it is a great bike and I can highly recommend it.
The 2015 SLR 1 has PLENTY of room for a up front for a larger tire. However I suspect 32 might be about the largest in the back. I think it would come close to the fender mount.
I gotta tell you guys the more I ride the CoMax 2, the more I understand the nuances of the composite frame. I am still having a hard time coming up with the right words to describe the differences. The ride quality is more "dampened" and more "controlled".

I just saw a small Co Max 1 in San Diego today. Size S, I'm pretty good at guessing weight, I think its 22 pds even. I use to own a Fastroad SLR and if I did a blindfold test it would be about dead even in weight to me.
