Got my new DS 8.4 today

I picked the red one. I love the color and can't wait for the spring temps to arrive. I put a picture on here but for some reason it won't show 

I like the color too. Really stands out. I have an 8.3 and I'm wondering why you chose the 8.4. Just curious.

85 degrees in Arizona. <diabolical laugh>

Congratulations on the 8.4! I got mine last week (2014), but had to switch it out for a different size on Saturday and ended up with the Matte Black 2015. Every day since it has been raining. Rain stopped today, but it will be around 45 in the morning if I want to ride before work. Arrgh!

Just got Strava hooked up with my Garmin software, so I'm anxious to get out there and see how it all works.

For me - Disc brakes - the #1 feature I wanted! Had a bad experience with brakes with my old 10 speed years ago. Of course, on a bike this well made, the other brakes may be just fine. But it was the feature that sold me on the 8.4.

The 8.5 had the Isozone (at least on the 2014 ones - not sure it's still around), and that didn't interest me.

For 2015, the seat stay based Isozone got kicked to the curb and is no longer on any of Trek's bikes.

Not sure if it's the same on the current models but for 2013 I was set on an 8.3 but besides the fact when they didn't have my size in the 8.3 the 8.4 had hydraulic disc, hydraulic fork lockout and better specced gearing which sold me ( Oh and the matte white looked so much better than the gloss colours on the 8.3).

My son bought the 2013 DS 8.3 and it's still a nice bike but the extras just make mine a little bit nicer to ride.

You just got it today and you haven't bought a new seat, pedals, computer, front and rear LED lights ? What's taking you so long ? ;-)
IMHO don't rush buying a new seat, read up on comments online first, but I think you'll find after market seats are night and day better then factory, I did.

Simple Computer, bottle cage and kickstand. First bike I've had in a long time with a kickstand. But with putting a toddler cart behind it the ks just didn't made sense. I've had the click in Look pedals before on my triathlon bike. Not doing that for this one. I won't be riding this in the dark so I don't need lights.

Comfortable gel seat? Yeah that's a definite consideration. Lol
