I only do that while riding the MUP. I slow down from my usual 30MPH so the other MUP users can admire my guns.

Doing curls with five-pound dumbbells? Completely useless. Doing it while cycling indoors? Maybe if you were curling for the entire cycling workout it might add to the cardio.
An indoor machine like a Concept 2 rower would be much better at giving you a full body workout.

I have a rowing machine, but it doesn't really get too cold to ride here, so I haven't used it yet. And yeah, I have a set of weights, but I have all this pedaling to do. I'm pretty sure I will get around to upper body strength workouts, probably in January. Unless some other projects çome to the surface.

Goodness, no. Totally useless in terms of cycling training. One can get a decent full-body weight workout with a couple of relatively inexpensive cast iron plate dumbbell sets, doing sets of 30, 3′ between sets of all same weight, enough that one can’t do 30 on the last set. Dumbbell deadlifts and front squats sub for the squat rack. You also need is some sort of bench improvised with a 2 X 12. Ride your bike an hour on the trainer or rollers first. Fix you right up this fall.

No.
This reminds me of the one and only spin class I ever did. The group leader had us doing all sorts of random stuff.
If I am on a bike I am on it to cycle.
If I want to specifically work on core or other body parts I will do the appropriate exercises at another time.

After 60 years on Earth, I can barely dress myself. Doing two things at once, inconceivable (pronounced with a lisp like that dude on Princess Bride). When I ride, I don’t run. When I run, I don’t ride. When I lift, I don’t run. Etc., etc., etc. Who are these people with so much more talent than I possess? Extraterrestrials, I sez!

They have a studio opening up near me very soon, so I had to look them up. I decided to pass when I read -
Set in a dark candlelit room to high-energy music, our riders move in unison as a pack to the beat and follow the signature choreography of our instructors. The experience is tribal. It's primal. It's fun.

I’ve been to one of the soul cycle sessions - it’s actually a pretty cool experience and a crazy hard workout, and definitely a different experience and demographic from my road cycling, triathlete buddies. Honestly on a dreary tiring day, I’m rather motivated to go there to check out the young fit folk rather than the MAMILs

And the last think i'd want are large forearms... i'd never be able to fit them in the yellow jersey when I get on the podium.
