Howdy, from Texas!

Hi folks!

I'm traditionally a mountain biker (well... what passes for mountains in Texas, anyway) and I love the trails. However, one by one, all my friends have switched to road biking. For a long time I couldn't understand that... why would you choose roads over trails? ...it seemed so boring compared to the thrill of riding through the woods!

But, it isn't much fun riding by myself... so, I swapped to hybrid tires, and hit the roads. Following my friends on my mountain bike for 4 years really built up my legs, but I grew really tired of being the last guy... so, I saved up and (finally) got my road bike... and now I understand.

My little race bike is the greatest, and it begs me to come ride. I loved my mountain bike, but I never dreamed about riding it, like I do my road bike. Since buying it, not only have I lost my gut, but now I'm looking forwards to some long distance events in the beautiful Texas Summer sun.

But, wait... is that all? Now they're telling me I need a "townie" bike to do the local stylin' easy city rides. Just how many bikes does one need?!

Ah well, nevermind... lovin' it all. Oh, and glad to be here.

Jaranth

Welcome to BF. I understand your move from trails to road. I have always been a road biker but I own a MTB for some variety. Nice looking bike. Try some rides across Texas.

Wow, Terlingua!~

On your way to Big Bend I see! What an epic ride... I have friends that used to live in Alpine, and we camped all over that area.

That's a stark, beautiful part of Texas that many people never get to see because it's so remote. But not for you!
