Hi from Lisbon, Portugal
I'm new to the bike world and just got a used bike, i've been reading a lot of threads in the forum lately.
The bike is a Gitane (la française des Jeux replica?) equiped with shimano 105 9-sp 5500.
Already done a quick cleaning and tuning and tested it on the road, first impression is good but i really fell the lack of low gears (lots of hills in lisbon), current gears is 52-42X12-23 so i bought a new chain and a 12-28 tiagra cassette. Also considered a compact crankset but that involved a lot of changes. I'll wait for the new cassette and see.
Bikes are really trending here in Lisbon lately, lots of bike shops opening and ciclepaths being built lately.
I will use the bike mainly for city transport and replace my current sunday long easy run for a long bike ride.
