Hello from Illinois, Ohio, and Texas!

Hey everyone, I would just like to say hello and introduce myself. I am a 21-year old newfound cyclist. Born and raised in Illinois, attending university in Ohio, and interning for the summer in Texas.

Growing up I competitively rode BMX and motocross, eventually putting the bike away for around the last 6 years. Last summer while working in Los Angeles, I picked up road cycling and haven't looked back since. Hoping to become an active member of this community, and looking forward to getting to know some of you!

Sorry for the delay in my response, I have have a new internship down here in Houston and haven't been on BF frequently. As said, I am in the memorial area of Houston. Still looking for some good places to ride (safely! the roads down here are just too congested)

Recently I have been riding a Bayou trail that starts off TC Jester/11th St. Is this a decent place? It's only about 16 miles total, so I am looking for something a bit longer

I ride that MUT often, it is my wife's favorite place to ride...to add miles we just make the loop multiple times...I am there almost every Saturday and sunday....sometimes ride part of it at lunch time during the week....you will not likely be here to see the completion of it, but the city is working on extending it and when they are thru it is supposed to be a 40 mile loop. If you were there last weekend either Saturday or sunday morning, you probably passed the wife and I on the trail.
