Hello from DC Metro/Northern VA
I just learned how to ride a bike earlier this May, thanks to the Washington Area Bicyclist Association's "how to ride" class. Before that I took another "how to ride" class with another organization and failed. I was inspired to take up cycling after my brother in law tried to teach me - neither of us knew at the time that you can't teach an adult (who never learned how to bicycle) the same way you might teach a small child. 
Anyway, I bought my bike early last week and have been riding it almost every day, working on my basics and having fun. Looking forward to learning more and more.
