Hi from older Southern CA desert rider
I’m not exactly an inexperienced rider, but I might as well be after 30 yrs of not riding and with all the latest technology. I rode a bike all of my younger years and I didn’t even own a car until well after I graduated collage.
I’m over 65 and retiring this year so I figured I would use my extra time riding again. Anyway I bought a cheap Huffy mountain bike at the flea market for $20 that needs a little repair. Things have changed quite a bit since I had my 10 speed too many years ago and it took me days of searching for new shifters. So I decided to join a forum to get the correct answers and recommendations a little quicker.

Thanks for the welcome. I’m still trying to decide where to start my questions. They are mostly about replacement parts. I bought new brake pads from eBay and discovered they don’t fit. I spent a lot of time trying to identify what type of brakes I have because I don’t remember ever seeing this type of brakes back when I was riding.
