Newbie from PA.
Greetings from Pennsylvania.
I'm a 47 year old weekend warrior. I purchased a Specialized bike last year and have been learning by trial and error. I consider myself a newbie. I've ridden a few 50 mile rides, but have never ridden in a group. It will take me some time to pick up on the biking lingo, but I welcome all suggestions and advice.

Hey Zippy,
Welcome to Bike Forums.
I had 2 Specialised bikes. They were both so fun to ride.
Look around ask questions and have fun posting.

Welcome Zippy!
I started cycling again a few years back at about 47 y/o. A great piece of advice that I received early on about group riding was to hang near the back of the group and watch and learn before mixing it up in the peloton. Worked well for me.
