Hi all,
I just joined this morning while researching gravel grinder bikes. The thread on the Specialized Diverge has been most helpful.
I've ridden both mountain bikes (~83-96) and road bikes (97-15) and have been a USAC moto ref. I gave up the moto ref work after a hit and run crash on my BMW GS in which the bike caught fire and me along with it. I'm OK now but have given up riding motorcycles and am returning to more riding on both the tarmac and dirt roads. Fortunately the SLO/Pismo Beach area has a lot of cyclists and motorists seem to be pretty aware of them around here.

Welcome to BikeForums.
Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, and Grover City (Grover Beach these days) were my weekend haunts when I was stationed at Vandenberg in the early 60s. The central coast from SLO to Gaviota is one of my favorite places.
