Newbie help recommendations for beginner\intermediate road bike
My last road bike was a Bianchi I had as a teen which was over 20 years ago. Since then, I've had a string of mountain bikes from Trek, with my current mountain bike being a 29er from Cannondale. I've been thinking of getting a second bike for the road that I can ride to work occasionally and do casual riding on the weekends. I also want to do the Seattle to Portland and Seattle to Vancouver rides eventually and looking for a good quality road bike that can fit the bill. My budget is about ~$1500 out the door. I really want to try out a carbon fiber bike, but good old aluminum is still and option I will consider.
Does anyone have recommendations?
