Talk to your doctor about your fitness goals.

I don't see why you couldn't ride a stationary bike as long as there is no pain. You could even do it with the one arm in a sling.

Once the wounds heal, you can even get a waterproof cast that I think can even be taken swimming.

Welcome to Bike Forums! Last summer I missed 2 months with a separated shoulder. After about 30 days I rode a trainer a few times.

Thanks - I was doing around 250 miles a week before accident. I have a spinning bike in garage- cushions on handle bars and used it comfortably for half an hour with out pain at all. Just gets rather sweaty.

Please talk to your doctor/medical professional first. If you experience pain it's probably for a reason and you don't want to push these things.
I'd highly advise taking this down time to fine tune your diet and eating program so your body can heal better and faster. Add more organic and non GMO foods, increase your water intake and make a log of what you eat and how you feel after.

Welcome to Bike Forums. When I had shoulder surgery and my arm was in a sling I started riding my bike on the trainer as soon as I felt like it (about a week after the surgery).
