Hello from the Piedmont area of NC
Hi, my name is Steve B. and we live in the area of NC referred to as the Piedmont or the foothills. About 1/2 way between the coast and the mountains. We have lived in the area for 20+ years, after stops in Ohio, California, Savannah, and now here. In the past (many years ago) I rode road bikes such as Fuji and Raleigh. My doctors decided that I need to get off my butt, and get some exercise. So instead or running or power walking, my wife and I decided on biking. I Looked at mainly Trek 7.3 FX and the Specialized Sirrus Sport. The budget limited my choices, since we also needed a bike for my wife. I nearly purchased the Trek, until I saw and rode the 2016 Specialized Sirrus Sport. I had intended on looking at both the Giant and the Cannondale, however, the LBS' s that carried those brands were some distance away.
We are looking forward to biking on the many greenway' s in the area.

Hi Steve, I'm new here also and I live in Winston- Salem. My story is similar to yours. I've been away from bikes for about 20 years and my previous experience was with 10 speed Peugeots and Fuji. I'm considering a Trek 8.4 DS or similar bike. I will also be looking at he Giant Roam 1.
